Hottrax Organisation |
| About Hottrax Events | | Hottrax is run by Dave and Karen Mabbutt, after 10 years of organising circuit based events in the UK and Europe we are proud to say that we enjoy every minute and are probably the only Track Day company providing events at the largest selection of venues in the UK from Brands Hatch through to Donington Park and Silverstone, to name just a few. European events are held at venues such as Cartagena and Almeria in Spain and Portimao in Portugal. We also run events in Brno (Czech Republic), Val de Vienne in France. It is not only Track Days we offer but Endurance and Sprint Race Meetings in 2010. Why use anyone else, we can cater for everyone's needs, all in one company. The Track Miles loyalty scheme we run means that you earn miles for every event you attend, put these miles together and get free events of your choosing. | Dave Mabbutt (Director) | Dave Mabbutt at Vallelunga in World Endurance | Nicknames : Mad Butt, Mustang Title : Director and Owner at Hottrax Lives : Milton Keynes Status : Married to Karen Children : 3 between us Pets : Cassie the dog Current Bike : Kawasaki ZX10R Favourite Circuits UK : Oulton Park/Croft Favourite Circuit Abroad : SPA, Belguim Favourite All time Rider : Rayne Rainey Most admired person : Karen the wife Drink : Red Wine, Beer, Coffee, Tea Food : Chinese, Spaghetti Dave has a wealth of experience in the racing world, he won the New Era Superclub and Club Championships in 1998 on a Kawasaki ZX7RR and did a few rounds of the BSB Championships that year with a best finish of 16th overall at Oulton Park. Racing with Niall MacKenzie, Steve Hislop, James Hayden, Chris Walker and John Reynolds was the highlight of his career. Turning to World Endurance from there he competed in many rounds including the awesome SPA circuit for 3 consecutive years riding for different teams over the course of 24 hours of racing. Crashing once in the rain at 3am in the morning was not a high point but finishing 2 of these was a great achievement. He also raced at the Nurburgring and Daytona in the USA. | Karen Mabbutt Operations | | | Karen is the hinge pin of the Hottrax organisation, from telephone and internet bookings through to registration and organisation of the day she is a busy girl. She started out knowing nothing about motorcycles but now knows the difference between a GSXR1000 and a Yamaha R6. Helped out in the office by Gaynor they make a great team. Give her a call if you need any help | | Instructors | | The instructors at Hottrax are hand picked and assessed by Dave and Daz Jones (Chief Instructor). This assessment covers everything from riding skills to communication along with the ability to impart the knowledge they all have on aspects of your motorcycle skills and talent. They are on hand to give advice and support during the day to ensure that you have a rewarding, fun and above all a safe day. Hottrax instructors are all ACU or FIM licence holders and some have raced at all levels in the UK and the World. | | The Event and Booking | | Your track experience begins with booking, either online using the most comprehensive booking system on the market or by telephone. When you want to do a day with us just choose the event and the date along with your preferred group. This could be either Novice, Intermediate or Advanced. We don't over book our events or put you into a group you don't want to be in. This means you will have a safer day and we try to have room to move those to fast or to slow for the group they are in. Once booked you will be sent an email or postal confirmation and you can then download the details for the event from the web site. Just go to the event you have booked and at the bottom of the page you will find the indemnity forms, detailed itinerary for the day, a circuit map and any supplementary instructions telling you what restrictions there are or when the day starts and ends. | | The Event Day | | On the day of the event you will probably need to be there at around 7.30am for registration, sign on and collect your group wrist band and sticker for the bike. The day really begins with a safety briefing covering all aspects of the event from flag signals to rider etiquette. Any changes to the event schedule will be mentioned here. The briefing really is a very important part of the day and you may not miss it. Usually we will start on track with the Advanced group followed by the Intermediates and then the Novices. Sighting laps are always done on your first session out to ensure that you can assess the circuit conditions and make sure your bike is in working order. | There you have it, the rest is up to you. Normally you will get 6 or 7 20 minute sessions during the day with a lunch break for 1 hour. Just relax and enjoy yourselves. If you are doing an Endurance or Sprint Race with us then the information available is comprehensive and of course you should know the basics as you will have an ACU licence. Have a great time and we look forward to hearing from you soon. Regards The Hottrax Team | |
