Croft Circuit - North Yorkshire Croft must be one of the most favourite circuits in the North of England. With a very fast straight, a left hand hairpin and fast and challenging corners most people find that although this is a technical track it is certainly awesome! Croft opened in 1951 racing on a 2.2 mile airfield perimeter track. The circuit was sold in 1958 but local racing enthusiasts reopened Croft four years later on a 1.64 mile circuit. Racing initially returned on the 1.64 track - in 1997 with the addition of Clervaux, S Bend, The Hairpin and a new start/finish straight the circuit was extended to 2.127 miles. How to Get There From the A1M (North or South) follow the A167 south from Darlington through the village of Croft on Tees. 3.5 miles from Croft on Tees turn right, sign posted Dalton Gates Industrial Estate and the circuit is on the right after about half a mile. The circuit is also signposted with the usual brown flag signs. |
