Anglesey, North Wales One of only two racing circuits in Wales - the other is Pembrey, near Swansea - Anglesey Circuit is unique in Britain as the only permanent track located off the mainland. Also known as Trac Môn, the circuit opened in 1997 on the site of the former Ty Croes rallycross circuit. Rallycross still takes place here on a special section which bypasses the second half of the track. The whole facility was originally an army base and radar station (where the late John Peel was once stationed during his National Service!). How to Get There Head towards Bangor in North Wales and take the only road into Anglesey Island. Go along the A55 towards Holyhead. About 10 miles into Anglesey take a left at the Trac Mon tourist board and follow the signs.
